HOW TO USE THEM:
THE THREE PROGRESSIVE LEVELS
• Level 1: Color blocks
The most supportive level. Each shape is filled with the exact color of the corresponding physical pattern block. Ideal for toddlers and preschoolers matching blocks to the template.
• Level 2: Black & White
A great transitional step. Shapes are outlined with a solid white fill. Kids use their visual spatial skills to figure out which color block fits the space without the crutch of colour-matching.
• Level 3: Whole shape outlines
The most advanced level. Provides only the outer boundary of the complete picture (e.g. the silhouette of a T-rex or Stegosaurus). Children must problem-solve and use trial and error to fill the shape using various combinations of pattern blocks.

INSTRUCTIONS:
• Print at 100%, do not fit, so that the blocks match exactly the template.
• The templates are designed for the Pattern block sets of Melissa & Doug or Learning Resources.

PERFECT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT
Using the templates helps children develop:
